JON JUSTIN
Jon was a dominant athletic and academic star at SHS from 1995-1998 at a time
when SHS was transitioning from the 2A class to 3A (remaining as the smallest 3A
school in the state for a number of years). Jon played multiple sports, lettering in
cross-country, track, football, and basketball and was a leader both in and outside
the classroom. Jon excelled most on the basketball court, becoming all-state both
his junior (2
nd
team) and senior (1
st
team) years, while also being awarded league
player of the year on a team that finished 25-3 and 6
th
in state. Jon still holds the
SHS career and game average rebounding records, and held the school scoring
record from 1998 through 2012. He also went to the track state championships
(with the team finishing 2
nd
), and was an all-state football player his senior year. He
also excelled in the classroom, becoming a member of the Honor Society, while
also serving in student government and in the Key Club. After SHS, Jon attended
Westmont College (Santa Barbara, CA) (where he stands tied for 6
th
in the high
jump) and Warner Pacific (1999-2000) (Portland, OR) (where he is in the top 15 for
career free throw percentage), before graduating from San Diego State. Jon then
returned to the Portland, Oregon area, where he was the Director of Service
Management at Nike.
