DAVE AND DONNA MOYER
Dave and Donna Moyer – Special Contributors. Dave and Donna have been
special contributors to the Sisters School District and the Sisters Community in
every imaginable way for more than 50 years. Dave worked with the US Forest
Service from 1970 – 2011, and still volunteers with the USFS. He also has
volunteered for the Sisters Fire Department since 1972 and was named Fireman of
the Year. Dave also served on the Sisters City Council, was Mayor of Sisters in the
1990’s, and was a member of the Sisters Planning Commission. He still serves on
the Urban Forestry Board as its Chairman and on the Sisters Budget Committee.
Donna started volunteering with the Sisters School District in 1975 as an
educational assistant, and then continued to serve the District in numerous
capacities, which continues to this day. Among her many talents, Donna is an
accomplished pianist. She has taught hundreds of Sisters children and adults since
1971, and has regularly played the piano for community concerts and Sisters’
seniors. Dave and Donna have been married for over 52 years, and have been a
“team” by every definition. The Sisters parent-teacher club, Sisters Starry Nights,
hosting tour buses during the Sisters Quilt Show, and tutoring and mentoring
children are just a few of the many ways in which the Moyers have bettered the
Sisters community together. Dave and Donna even have been volunteer ticket
takers at Sisters High School athletic events since 1993, welcoming thousands of
fans over the years. For their efforts, the Moyers were voted 2014 Volunteers of
the Year for Sisters. They truly are the gifts that keep on giving.
