SHANE CROWDER
Shane Crowder (SHS Class of 2000). Champion. Shane is one of the greatest
athletes in Sisters High School history. Shane was a member of the 1998 and 1999
back-to-back SHS state championship football dynasty, playing wide receiver and
defensive back. He was second team All-State as a junior at both positions, and
was first team All-State at both positions as a senior. Shane still holds the Outlaw
record for receptions in a season. The lethal connection between quarterback
Dusty Macauley and Shane Crowder is an all-time best. Shane also played
basketball at SHS and was part of a school and district record, and State
championship, 4 x 100-meter relay team on the track. As special as Shane was on
the football field, the basketball court, and track, he was even more amazing on the
baseball diamond. While at SHS, Shane was All-District, and then played two
seasons at Mt. Hood Community College before becoming a standout player at
Division One University of Illinois, Chicago. During his tenure with the UIC
Flames, Shane was a 2005 2
nd
team All-League outfielder. In 2005, Shane ranked
10
th
all-time in triples, while also having a batting average of .338 with 7 home runs,
14 doubles, 36 RBI, and 45 runs scored. The Flames appeared in the 2005 NCAA
Regionals, with Shane being recognized as part of the 2005 NCAA Regional All-
Tourney team. Defensively, Shane was almost perfect during the 2005 season,
recording only one error the entire season. Shane also excelled in the classroom,
being named to the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll.
