SARA SMALL
Sara Small (SHS Class of 2012). Premier athlete – Multiple State Champion. Sara
is one of the greatest athletes to have attended Sisters High School. Sara lettered
all four years in both soccer and track and excelled in both. She was captain of the
soccer team her junior and senior years, All-League all four years, the Sky Em League
MVP both her junior and senior years, and first team All-State goalkeeper her junior
and senior years. The team also was a state championship finalist both years. Sara
also excelled on the track and as a state champion pole vaulter. Although Sara ran
multiple events, she was a four-time Sky Em League champion in the pole vault and
state champion both her junior and senior years. She still holds the SHS school
record. Sara’s talents took her to Wake Forest University for both soccer and the
pole vault (on scholarship). She transferred to the University of Arkansas-Little Rock
(UALR) for her last two years of eligibility. At UALR Sara started as goalkeeper
both her final two years, posting UALR Trojan bests for best save percentage (.803)
and goals against average (0.93) over a career. She is second all-time in career wins
(18), and second all-time in career shutouts (12.2). Sara continued her soccer career
after college, and has played professionally in Israel, Iceland, Italy, and Denmark.
